"Lower Town Cherokee"

"Lower Town Cherokee" is a North Eastern tribe in Georgia.
Ancestors on both sides of his family were listed on the "Guion Miller Roll of 1906", as members of the Cherokee Nation. Both Matriarchs were married to white men, prior to the removal, both were spared "The Long Walk".  As time went on they were both dropped from the subsequent "Rolls" for being "non-cooperative".  
Our "Cherokee Soul" is a descendent of John Hightower and one of his relation was a second husband to                
           Nanehi Ward.
He speaks the Lower Dialect incredibly well, one of the few left.  Being able to speak a dying language is a mesmerizing when you listen to his stories.  The Cherokee people retold their stories to their children, many stories were never written out, until modern day.  I have to admit having my parent or grandparent recall a story would mean more than having it read to me.
